Objectives

OUR FIRST STEP IS TO CREATE AN ONLINE PORTAL, SIMILAR TO A VIRTUAL NETWORK, WHERE YOUNG WOMEN CAN ACCESS ADVICE, REFERRALS AND APPLICATIONS FROM THEIR SUCCESSFUL FEMALE COUNTERPARTS.

We are also working with several media partners, including The Morning Show and Independent Media, to ensure that information about our movement and mentorship and skills development is available at the click of a button. These channels will also be profiling the women who have played a role in changing South African society, inspiring others to do the same.

The 7% Tribe will, furthermore, provide practical support through live events, like mentor speeddating sessions and workshops themed around leadership and development.

FURTHER...

Our aim is to grow the percentage of female executive directors on boards in the private sector and see measurable change year on year within all companies to support the promotion of women.
Our endeavour is not just about percentages, but also about creating a definitive shift in perceptions of gender equality in the workplace.
We are striving for a more equitable representation of women in boardrooms.
Our intention is to start conversations with captains of industry, whether male or female, about encouraging better work-life balance in organisations and to support women who continue to juggle work and home.
Our aim is to address women's concern that they will never break the glass ceiling without a supportive environment.
We will offer new networking opportunities for women in business.
Our platforms will be used to amplify the messages required for real change.
We will create a foundation to support girls' education, women in commerce and female entrepreneurs.
Our aim is to encourage mentorship.
Our awards are an incentive for corporates to be transparent in their adoption of gender equality and the mechanisms put in place to support the growth and success of women at board level, and to review their current gender equality initiatives.
